Celebrating 10 years
of proven results.

Welcome. What's New?

Don’t let unexpected changes in executive staffing find you unprepared. In this and upcoming issues of our newsletter, we’ll share with you proven strategies to guide you through a well-planned interview and selection process – before you need it. It’s a hot topic we constantly hear about from our clients. If there’s something else you’d like to see covered, let us know. We’re here to help with your hiring needs.

Interview Preparation for Successful Outcomes

Effective interviewing is just like any professional skill – it requires training and regular practice. Unfortunately most hiring managers don’t conduct enough interviews on a regular basis to hone this skill, nor are they provided the necessary training in successful interviewing practices. As a result, interviews are often less productive, revealing and helpful than they could be.

With adequate planning and preparation, even the most infrequent interviewer can maximize the results from their time with qualified candidates. Here’s a quick look at some of the most important steps we use to help prepare our clients:

  1. Review and update the current position description for established goals and priorities.
  2. Create behavioral interview questions tailored toward responsibilities (more on this in our next newsletter).
  3. Identify the key interviewers for first and second round interviews.
  4. Schedule interviews within 5-7 days of each other to help interviewers accurately compare candidates.
  5. Prior to on-site interviews, meet with each interviewer to review candidate backgrounds, and answer questions about the candidates and process.
